Library Corner: Imagination Library program to be presented on Monday

United Way volunteers will present a special interactive Imagination Library storytime for children, ages birth through 6, on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Cleveland Bradley Community Room. There will be a craft to take home. Join the fun and learn more about United Way’s Imagination Library Program.

The Lego Club will meet on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Community Room. This Tween Club for ages 7 through 12 will be getting ready for the big Lego Weekend which will be held Nov. 3 and 4.

There will be a library tour on Thursday at 4 p.m. beginning in the lobby for those interested in seeing the behind-the-scene places and learning the history of the library. The tour lasts about 45 minutes.

If you have an iPad and want to learn how to download the library’s collection of e-books register for the Ebook Device Workshop held Sept. 21 from noon until 2 p.m. There is no charge for this workshop. Just be sure to bring your device with you to class.

Reservations are now being taken at the Circulation Desk for the Mark Gimenez events on Oct. 16 and 18. The Fall Author Luncheon will be held at First Baptist Church on Oct. 16. Cost for the luncheon will be $35 and will include Merchants Alley, lunch catered by Impressions Catering and Mark Gimenez as special guest author.

There will be an evening Meet the Author event to speak with Gimenez at a limited wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres party at 5:30 p.m. at the Museum Center at Five Points, which includes a reserved seat at his evening book review and signing.

Tickets are available for the evening Book Review, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission is $10 and student admission with ID is $5. Gimenez’s books are for sale at the Circulation Desk.
