Edna Marie Newman, 91, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, in a local hospital. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Newman; son, Stacy Dennis Newman and parents, Cash Miller and Annie Haney Miller Swanson.

She is survived by her children: Perry Keith Newman and wife, Linda, of Seymour and Vicki Johnston and husband, S.T., of Tellico Plains; four grandchildren: Brad Newman of Calhoun, Carrie Hicks of Charleston, Amy Partin and husband, Nathan, of Charleston and Kadence Newman of Seymour; three great-grandchildren: Amber White, Chase Kiser and Hallie Hicks; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends at Wellington Place.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
