Students will be voting, not for president of the united States, but rather, their favorite breakfast cereal. During this proces the “candidates” are trying to convince classmates to vote for their cereal. The weekly study invovles voter regostration, caucus to pick party candidates, creating moke TV ads., phone polls, making banners, yard signs, buttons and stickers for campaigning.
Each party has nominees for president, vice-president and campaign managers. Candidates will participate in a debate arguing for their choice of cereal.
Each classroom will be assigned a state name with electoral votes and ballot boxes for voting in the general election. The last week of study will be a victory party and inauguration with the winners and losers making speeches.
