Ingrid Ann Buehler, 68, a longtime owner/editor of the Polk County News, died of cancer Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at her home in Reliance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Toini Peltonen; and sister, Katherine Griffin.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Randolph Buehler, of Reliance; son, Randy Buehler Jr. and wife, Denvia Laugel, of Bellevue, Wash.; daughter, Cheryl Buehler of Delano; granddaughter, Kira Buehler of Bellevue; sister-in-law, Cheryl Heck of Perry Hall, Md.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was born in Washington, D.C., and moved with her family to Polk County in 1983 when she and her husband, Randy, purchased the Polk County News. Her career as a newspaper person began at Towson State College in 1964 and professionally spanned the period from 1974-2012.

A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Polk County News office in downtown Benton.

Donations to the American Cancer Society may be made in her honor in lieu of flowers.
