Commodity distribution postponed; next allocation is Nov. 15

The Bradley-Cleveland Community Service Agency has announced that its Sept. 27 commodity distribution has been rescheduled for Nov. 15.

Delayed shipments of commodity foods account is the reason distribution has been delayed. This was the last scheduled distribution for the use of the Orange Card.

Commodity recipients must obtain a new card for the November distribution. CSA will begin issuing these cards in October, and applicants may call for an appointment to get their new card beginning Oct. 8.

Household categories which are eligible to receive the commodities, are as follows:

Food Stamp recipient; Families First (former AFDC program) recipients; SSI (Supplemental Security Income) recipients; income not exceeding the poverty guidelines; public housing; and LIEAP (Low-Income Energy Assistance Program) recipients.

Households may prove they meet the criteria by bringing one of the following documents of proof:

Food stamps — letter of approval, identification card or inert card that comes form Stamps;

Families First — Letter of approval and Families first iden- tification card;

SSI — Letter of approval or let-ter from Social Security;

Low-income household —income information;

Public Housing — Address identification.

If a person is picking up the commodities for someone else: He must bring a note from the recipient saying he is to pick up their commodities. or he must bring the recipients eligibility documents.

Households should remember

that misrepresentation of need, or sale or exchange of USDA commodities are prohibited and could result in a fine, imprison- ment or both. Each eligible household will receive a predetermined amount of each commodity as long as they last. Recipients are urged to bring two grocery bags with them.
