She was a lifelong resident of Bradley County.
She began playing the piano and organ in church at the age of 14, and played for more than 50 years in area churches. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Ragsdale and Mae Hamilton Ragsdale; and father and mother-in-law, Wallace Griffith and Vida Officer Griffith.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bob Griffith; one daughter and son-in-law, Tony and Jena Cavett; grandchildren: Kristen Cavett of Cleveland, Corey and Kimberly Cavett of Ringgold, Ga.; one great-granddaughter, Kinsley Cavett of Ringgold; and she is also survived by their family dog, “Tiger.”
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church, 1275 Stuart Road, Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, from 10 a.m to noon, with a memory of life service immediately following.
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Bill Hamilton, Michael Pierce, Rick Lawson, Loye Hamilton, Mike Ragsdale and Larry Tatum serving as pallbearers.
