CHATTANOOGA — The Bradley Central boys bowling team defeated Chattanooga Central in convincing fashion Wednesday to open the TSSAA season at Holiday Bowl in Chattanooga.

The margin of victory was 21 to 6 with 3,063 pins for Bradley and 2,534 pins for the Purple Pounders.

The competition consists of three complete games with two three-member teams from each school.

Bradley team members in the competition were Mitchell Baker, Chase Blackwell, Cody Henderson, Jordan Jones, Alec Norwood, Braden Sneed, and Brae Stafford. Alec Norwood was the top Bear bowler with 557 pins.

In the first game, Blackwell (B) def Sawyer (C) 203-94, Henderson (B) def Robinson (C) 159-136, Stafford (B) def Smith (C) 132-123, Baker (B) def Moss (C) 137-118, Kranske (C) def Jones (B) 183-162, and Long (C) def Norwood (B) 223-184.

In the second game, Blackwell (B) def Rollins (C) 215-115, Henderson (B) def Robinson (C) 186-176, Stafford (B) def Smith (C) 144-90, Baker (B) def Moss 190-102, Norwood (B) def Long (C) 173-146, and Kranske (C) def Jones (B) 187-178.

In the third game, Norwood (B) def Sawyer (C) 200-103, Baker (B) def Moss (C) 202-93, Henderson (B) def Robinson (C) 170-157, Kranske (C) def Jones (B) 184-180, Long (C) def Sneed (B) 174-117, and Rollins (C) def Blackwell (B) 140-131.

Bradley’s next match will be Oct. 17 at East Ridge.
