Guests enjoyed made-to-order nachos, including ground beef, chicken, black beans, rice, an assortment of cheeses and all the fixings. Mouthwatering churros and mocktails completed the festive meal.
Director of Marketing Annette Smith was one of several Life Care associates who worked behind the bar, simultaneously serving up nachos and laughter.
“With medical reports now stating that Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S.,” explained Smith, “most of us will be affected in some way or another by this terrible disease. The associates at Life Care Center of Cleveland and Garden Plaza are proud to contribute our time, effort and resources toward helping to find a cure.”
All proceeds for the annual event are being donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. The opportunity to help others is what attracted most of the guests.
“We’re here because we like to support local charities,” said recent Lee University graduate Caley Johns, who dined with her husband and a friend. “We came last year, too.”
“It’s always a privilege to have the community support a cause we’re passionate about,” said Jeremy Gravell, executive director.
Life Care Center of Cleveland, located at 3530 Keith St., N.W, is one of 25 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Tennessee operated or managed by Life Care Centers of America.
