She was a faithful charter member of Chippewa Church of God in Chippewa, Pa., and attended North Cleveland Church of God for the past three years.
She was a member of the Unity Sunday School Class and the weekly Ladies Bible study.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Gilbert Poplin; her parents, Carl and Elisabeth Verrico; brothers: the Rev. Frank, Pete, William, Arthur Petrucelli, and the Rev. Roland Verrico; and a sister, Helen Raybuck.
She is survived by one sister, Rev. Eleanor Verrico, formerly of Fort Loudon, Pa., and currently of Cleveland; sons: Carl Poplin of Rochester, Pa., Jess Poplin and wife Barbara of Leesburg, Fla., Dale Poplin and wife Mary Ann of Cleveland; grandchildren: Jem Poplin, David Poplin, Clay Poplin, Cassie Poplin, Marisa West, Jessa Stover, and JoAnna Mah; eight great-grandchildren; and two very special friends: Dorothy Deltino and Florine Reckner.
She was a loving mother with a heart of gold, inspired by her devout Christian faith. She lived her life as a Church of God pastor’s wife. She was an excellent Italian cook and homemaker. She will be remembered and missed by many as she kept in close contact with many family and friends through letter writing.
The funeral will be conducted at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at the Dixon Chapel of North Cleveland Church of God with the Rev. Robert Varner officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 at the Dixon Chapel, prior to the service.
A Celebration of Life Fellowship, provided by North Cleveland Church of God, will follow the service.
A brief viewing and service will be held at the Funeral Home Chapel in Sylvania Hills, Rochester Twp., Pa., at 1 p.m, Oct. 10, 2012, where she will rest along side her husband of 56 years.
