The Bradley Initiative for Church and Community will hold its annual fundraising banquet on Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Museum Center at 5ive Points.

Charles Marshall, nationally syndicated humor columnist and author, will be the speaker.

Marshall is one of the most popular humorous motivational speakers today. With more than 20 years experience, each year Marshall travels 100,000 miles to perform in more than 100 corporate and civic venues from New York to California.

“Charles Marshall is in great demand across the United States as a Christian comedian. I was pleased he was able to arrange his schedule to be with BICC for its annual dinner. Charles is able to look at everyday life and share his unique views in such a way that you soon find yourself laughing out loud and anxious to hear the next thing he is going to say,” Ken Davis, BICC vice president and banquet co-chair, said.

“He has an amazing ability to be hilarious while making you think. I have heard Charles many times, and without fail, people leave his events with a smile on their face and an uplifted spirit because of the laughter and joy they have just experienced.”

BICC is celebrating 14 years of serving as a vehicle of positive change in the community. In a deteriorating social and economic environment, the family unit and especially the children are the first to be negatively affected. BICC has honed its resources and energies to help strengthen the family unit and equip them to thrive.

The three primary programs of BICC are Starfish, Transitions, and Inspiring Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.

Starfish aids parents, as their child’s first and most important teacher, to maximize their child’s future success in school and life.

Transitions engages families in a proactive process to strengthen their relationships within the family structure and help quip them to thrive as they together navigate the challenges of school and life.

ITLT trains and mobilizes middle and high school students to become future productive leaders in our community.

The banquet to raise funds for 2013 will be an evening of laughter and will highlight the outcomes of the programs and set the vision for an exciting year ahead.

Tickets are $75 each and must be purchased by Oct. 26. Corporate sponsorships are also available as well as individual donations. Attire is dressy casual. For tickets or more information, call 559-1112.
