BASKETBALL REFEREES NEEDED
Anyone interested in refereeing basketball this season should attend the first meeting of the local basketball referee’s association on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Bradley Central High School cafeteria. For more information contact Greg Geren at 472-6268.
CSCC CLINIC
Cleveland State Community College Men’s Basketball Coach Lee Cigliano and Silverdale Academy Coach Randy Evans will conduct a youth Basketball Skills Clinics for boys and girls in the first through eighth grades Oct. 27 in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium on the campus of Cleveland State. The Clinic will be from 10 a.m until 1 p.m. The cost will be $35. There is a $10 discount for two or more siblings attending. The Clinic will focus on fundamental and team concepts as well as instruction on proper shooting form, ball handling and defense. Youth Basketball League
The Cleveland Family YMCA is currently taking registrations through Nov. 10 for its Youth Basketball League. The season will begin on Dec. 8. Evaluation will be held Nov. 3 and Nov. 10. Times for grade division are as follows: Kindergarten 9 -10 a.m. First grade 10-11 a.m. Second and third grade 11 a.m. until noon. Fourth and fifth grade noon until -1 p.m. and sixth and eighth grade 1-2 p.m.. Players are required to attend one of the two evaluation dates in order to play. The Cleveland Family YMCA is seeking individuals interested in volunteering for the Youth Basketball Program. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to, coaching, scorekeeping, refereeing, court monitoring, concessions. OCOEE HEAT TRYOUTS
An Ocoee Heat parents meeting will be held Oct 21 at 3 p.m. at Cleveland High School. Tryouts will be held Nov. 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for ages 10 through 13 at CHS; Nov. 3 from 2-4 p.m. for ages 14/15 at CHS; Nov. 4 for ages 16 through 18 from 3-5 p.m. at Bradley Central; and Nov. 5 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. also for ages 16 through 18 at CHS.
