Virginia Goldston Thompson, 85, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 14, 2012, at the Health Center of Standifer Place in Chattanooga.

She was a lifelong resident of Bradley County.

She was born to the late Condon and Nellie Goldston in Charleston.

She was preceded in death by 15 years by her husband, Robert Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Clarence, Coy and Henry Goldston; and her sisters: Velma Nelson, Ruth Goldston, Zilla Parker, and Mary Wood.

She was a lifelong member of Greens Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America, Charleston, where she served on the board of many auxiliaries.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy A. (Julia) Goldston of Chattanooga; six grandchildren: Robyn Goldston-Johnson of Chattanooga, Jonathan Goldston of LaVergne, Titus Blair, Everett Blair and Felicia Stevenson, all of Georgia and , Michael Blair of Knoxville; and two great-grandchildren: Jared Goldston of Jackson and Jeffery Johnson Jr. of Chattanooga.

The body may be viewed at the Patton Funeral Home Chapel, 265 Fair St. S.E., Cleveland TN, Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, from noon until the 1 p.m. service time at Green’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church of America in Charleston. Doctor the Rev. Harry M. Johnson Sr. will be the eulogist.

Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cleveland.
