Lake S. Painter, 89, a resident of McDonald, passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 16, 2012, in a Nashville hospital.
He was the son of the late Bertha Burris Painter and Henry Painter. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Oliver, Luke, Carl and William Painter; and his sister, Pearl Hawkinson.
He served in the United States Army, having fought in World War II. He retired from Collins Oil Co., and was a service attendant most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Pauline Sharp Painter, of McDonald; son, Bryan Painter and his wife, Kathy, of Soddy-Daisy; granddaughter, Hadassah Painter; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Ronnie Bishop officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be provided.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
