A crash in Hamilton County this morning shut down Interstate 75 southbound traffic as investigation and cleanup of the scene had to be performed.

According to Tennessee Department of Transportation information and Bradley County 911 reports, the crash involved an 18-wheeler and three passenger vehicles.

Tennessee Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation and according to their dispatchers, only one person received “very minor injuries” as a result of the crash.

The multi-car crash was reported to Bradley County just after 5 a.m. just across the county line and Hamilton County requested Bradley County Sheriff’s Office and Cleveland Police Department to shut traffic flow off at Exit 20.

Traffic was rerouted along Highway 11. Barricades were also set up to keep motorists from entering APD 40 at Highway 11.

Heavy traffic was reported along the southern Highway 11 route as well as APD 40 after the interstate was reopened.

THP is in charge of the crash investigation.
