He was a retired carpenter and farmer and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Cohutta, Ga.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Mullinax; son, Anthony Mullinax; and his parents, William A. Mullinax and Nina Goodner Mullinax.
Survivors include his daughters: Rita Lee (Kenny) of Ooltewah and Rhonda Combs (Bob) of Cleveland; one cherished as a daughter, Debi Powers (Randy) of Cleveland; grandchildren: Justin Maples, Brian Combs and Heather Zumstein; great-grandchildren: Isaac Maples, Will Maples, Toby Zumstein and Grace Zumstein; sisters: Faye Chadwick of Cleveland and Ruth Millsaps of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Dustin Wilds and Pastor Edmon Stallings officiating.
Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Cohutta with military honors.
Freddy Crumley, Sid Posey, James Burch, Jim Garrett, Justin Maples and Brian Combs will serve as pallbearers.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
