A native of Pikeville and a longtime resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Coleman and Carrie Lee Scoggins Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lake Thomas Morgan. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Morgan of Athens; sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas and Gina Morgan of Kathleen, Ga., Bob and Kathleen Morgan of Birchwood, Jay and Beth Morgan of Riceville; six grandchildren: Thomas and Sheryl Morgan, Carrie and Samuel Morgan, Amanda and Heath Tiegs, and Joshua Morgan; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Queen; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Margaret and E.C Barker of Decatur and Nora Ann Sneed of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, in Upper Spring Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Sneed officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Attn: Memorial Dept., 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
