Lee women's soccer midfielder Caroline Scales was awarded SSAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 15-21.
The senior from Chattanooga played a vital role in Lee's hard fought tie with Emory University Thursday night. She scored the tying goal in the matchup with the No. 1 team in NCAA Division III. Scales was also in charge of defending the Eagles’ top goal scorer and limited her to just one shot on goal the entire match.
In Saturday's 4-0 victory over Southern Wesleyan the Chattanooga native helped anchor a Lee defense which allowed just two shots the entire match, and no shots on goal.
Scales and the Lady Flames will play their final regular season home match this Wednesday as they take on SSAC rival Truett-McConnell. The match is slated for a 5 p.m. start.
