Wilma Virginia Thomas Hamm, 94, a longtime resident of Ocala, Fla., went to be with the Lord, on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, in Ocoee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Sallie Thomas; brothers: Ottis and James Thomas; and sister, Edna Garrett; and the love of her life, Willie Dalton Hamm; three sons: Jesse James Hamm, William Hardy Hamm, and Dalton Daniel Hamm.
She is survived by one brother, O.D. Thomas of Archer, Fla.; sisters: Louise Perkins of Ocala and Inez Klem of Jacksonville, Fla.; sons: W. Howard (Wanda) Hamm of Sparr, Fla., Robert (Betsy) Hamm of Ocoee, Charles (Lucy) Hamm of Gainesville, Fla., Jeff (Trella) Hamm of Pocahontas, Ark.; and daughters: Mary Virginia (Kinnith) Findley of Attalla, Ala., Vangie Cannady of Lenoir City, Melody (Jerry) Downs of Sweetwater. The blessings of a long life brought her 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Her life was her family — Her Lord was her love!
She was buried Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Greenwood Cemetery in Ocala.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Restoration Fellowship, 211 Trewhitt Drive S.W., Cleveland, and followed by a covered-dish dinner for family and friends in the family life building.
The Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes was in charge of the arrangements.
