Mildred Marie Woody Woods, 88, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2012, in a local health care facility.

She was the daughter of the late Annie Ghorley Woody and T.K. Woody. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Woods; son, Dale Woods; six brothers and sisters; and three great-grandchildren.

She was retired from Bradley Memorial Hospital with many years of service. She was a very active member of the Phillippi Baptist Church. She loved her church and church family.

Survivors include children: Margaret Cunningham, Benny Woods and his wife, Jessie, Dennis Woods and his wife, Cookie; her grandchildren: Tamara Helton and her husband, David, Shane Cunningham, Dera Hatfield and her husband, Josh, and Steven Woods; three great-grandchildren; her stepgrandchildren; Melinda and Buddy Barefield and Adam Carroll; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 7 this evening, Oct. 25, 2012, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Sammy Hooker officiating.

A graveside services and interment will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Prospect Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 this evening at the funeral homes.
