Three local businesses will hold a Community Appreciation Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 3) at the offices of Hiwassee-Chase-Air Systems, 3160 Frazier Park N.E., in Cleveland.

The purpose of this expo is to show guests how to reduce their home utility costs.

Sponsoring the expo are Cleveland Aluminum, Energy Miser — a division of Volunteer Rid-A-Pest, and Hiwassee Chase. All three of these companies are members of the TVA Quality Contractor Network. All three will present various methods in which homeowners can reduce their utility bills.

Presentations at the event will include the Carrier Corporation — a manufacturer of heating and cooling systems, and the Honeywell Corporation — manufacturers of a wide variety of indoor air quality products and thermostats.

In addition, energy evaluators that work under contract through the TVA for both Cleveland Utilities, and Volunteer energy will be available to explain their free program, which many customers of the sponsors say they knew nothing about. Guests will be able to sign up for a free evaluation at that time.

Sponsors also will be available to offer details on their specific services and products.

Free hot dogs, popcorn, and soft drinks will be available, as will door prizes, including a grand prize. The grand prize, valued at approximately $12,000, includes a new central heating and cooling unit, up to 10 new vinyl windows, and an upgrade to the attic insulation in the winner’s home to a value of R-38.

All three event sponsors invite all home owners in Cleveland and surrounding communities to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to save money.
