James was born in Ohio on Nov. 22, 1957, a son of the late James and Betty Travis.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Adam Travis and two sisters: Rita and Jane Travis.
He is survived by two daughters: Audrey Hayes (Rick) and April Travis; two sons: Chris Travis and Jimmy Travis; and one brother, Jackie Travis of Ohio.
