The Bradley County Trustee’s Office has again received an audit with no findings.

“The tax processing clerks had another outstanding year servicing [more than] 49,000 parcels with 100 percent accuracy,” according to a press release issued by Trustee Mike Smith. “The accounting division continues to operate at the highest level while monitoring over 200 million dollars of cash flow and 600 governmental accounts. The excellent accuracy of the accounting division was again proven as they had another year with no year-end adjustments required by the state auditors.”

The final audit for the Trustee’s Office for the 2011-12 fiscal year, which ended on June 30, was received last week. According to a press release, this yearly audit was conducted by the Division of County Audits of the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office. The auditors review every financial transaction of the department to ensure it is being run in accordance with financial standards and state laws.

In addition to having no findings, the audit also did not require any financial adjustments.

“My staff and I understand how critical financial accuracy is to both the taxpayers and Bradley County government. We will continue to strive for 100 percent accuracy and to serve Bradley County citizens with the highest regard and respect,” Smith said in a release.

During a telephone interview he commented that he was proud of the department.

“We’ve had a 100 percent audit since the financial year 2007-2008,” Smith said.

The Trustee’s Office is located on the first floor of the Bradley County Courthouse.
