OLIN ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER Jessica Summey (back row, third from left) recently visited the environmental science class at Cleveland High School. Groups presented research projects on chlorine production using posters and slide presentations to Summey during her visit.  Summey then shared information regarding her job as an environmental engineer and the current status of the changeover from mercury to membrane processing at Olin.

CLEVELAND HIGH SCHOOL environmental science students recently presented research on chlorine production methods. Students researched three major methods: diaphragm, mercury, and membrane. These students presented about the mercury method. Environmental science teacher Jeannie Cuervo worked at Olin for six weeks over the summer as part of the Chamber of Commerce Teacher Academy Program.  As a follow-up, Cuervo had her environmental science students complete research on chlorine production. Olin is currently switching from mercury to membrane processing.
