Bruins sweep pair from Bobcats

The Lake Forest Bruins hosted the Chilhowee Middle Bobcats Tuesday night and took a pair of victories. The seventh grade won by a 54-28 score while the eighth grade cruised to a 50-19 victory.

The seventh-grade Bruins held a slim 24-19 halftime lead before exploding in the second half, outscoring the Bobcats 30-9. Devin Moore paced the Bruins with 13 points and seven rebounds while Nakoma Garrett added nine. Nicholas Bentley, Brock Tucker and Bailey Timmons each added six points as every Bruin player scored.

Timmons claimed 12 rebounds as the seventh-grade team ran its record to 3-0.

The eighth-grade Bruins seized control of their game early and cruised to the win and also improved their record to 3-1.

Silas Pippenger led the Bruin assault by hitting three 3s and finishing the night with 13 points. Trevor Cartwright copped three steals and scored 10 points while Braxton Wiggins and John Brown each added six markers, with Wiggins pulling down seven rebounds.

The Bruins will now take a week off before hosting Meigs County Tuesday.
