The Ocoee Middle School sixth-grade Colts reeled off two more hoops victories recently.
All 11 players contributed positive minutes in a 46-9 rout of Athens Middle, with Patton Ford leading the scoring with 10 points.
Jack Essenburg and Brenden O’Boyle chipped in with six points apiece, while Tyler Ferguson had five points and “many rebounds in a well played game,” according to coach Ed Coates.
Jordan Munck and Isaiah Johnson finished with four points apiece and “a great defensive effort.”
On Thursday, the Colts downed visiting Copper Basin by a 42-15 margin with “the hometown crowd wowed by another top performance from Ford, the floor general, who had 10 big points on a variety of nifty drives,” Coates stated.
“Ferguson hit the boards hard and managed eight points and Munck turned in another solid performance with eight points and a couple of steals,” the coach added. “Tre Guilmenot tallied five points to celebrate his birthday. Kinsey Swallows played hard and ended up with three points, as did Essenburg and Johnson. Hayden Ownbey closed out the scoring with two points and six rebounds.”
Ocoee Middle will return to the court Saturday morning as it hosts crosstown rival Cleveland Middle. The girls game will begin at 11 with the boys to follow at noon.
