Madyson Foster’s weekend journey to the Northwest Tennessee town of Union City proved to be worthwhile as the Cleveland resident returned home with a $2,000 scholarship and the title of Miss Fall Fest to secure her second consecutive trip to the Miss Tennessee Pageant.

The 21-year-old senior at Birmingham Southern College was among the seven contestants who competed for the title at the Masquerade Theatre and the victory came just one week after she was the Miss Scenic City first-runner up in Chattanooga. She was a top 15 finalist at last June’s state pageant in Jackson and was the recipient of the Miss Tennessee Community Service Award for her volunteer work at the Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House.

Foster, who is a double major in dance and business, performed a ballet en pointe to Escala for her talent presentation. Her career ambition is to become a physical therapist specializing in the rehabilitation of injured dancers.

The daughter of D.J. and April Foster and member of Chi Omega Sorority is a 2009 graduate of Cleveland High School and was the 2008 Miss Tennessee’s Outstanding Teen.

She is the second state contestant for 2013 to have area ties. Miss Country Sunshine, Maria Shepherd, is a junior majoring in clarinet performance at Lee University. The 2013 Miss Tennessee Pageant will be held next June in Jackson.
