The 49-37 outcome pushed coach Ed Coates’ Colts to 8-0 on the young season as they prepare to host Chilhowee Middle Tuesday afternoon at 5:30.
The early press defense proved beneficial for Ocoee Saturday as they bolted out of the gate with a 10-2 start and a 14-4 edge at the first quarter break.
The hosts kept a comfortable margin throughout the contest with the starting five accounting 43 of the team’s 49 points during the hard fought contest.
Lorenzo White paced the victory with a double-double — 18 points, 10 rebounds — plus handed out four assists. Tyler Ferguson also posted a double-double with 13 points and a dozen caroms.
The supporting cast of hustling Colts — Patton Ford, Jordan Munck and Isaiah Johnson — added four points apiece, plus combined for a dozen steals.
“We are 8-0 on the season due to tremendous teamwork and the contribution of all 12 players,” stated coach Coates.
The CMS Raiders were led by Norrance Berry with a game-high 22 points, including three 3-pointers.
