Jerry Lee McDermott, 59, of Cleveland, formerly of Etowah, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson and Willie May McDermott; sisters: Mary Chandler, Robbie Lee McDermott and Nora J. Turk; and brothers: Charles E. McDermott, Earl L. McDermott, Donald E McDermott.
He is survived by his wife, Billie McDermott; son, Jeremy (Lesley) McDermott; daughter, Jessica (Will) Chestnutt; granddaughters: Jayla Leigh and MaKenzie McDermott and Jadyn and Mya Chestnutt; sisters: Alice (Eddie) Butler and Nancy Upson of Aiken, S.C.; brothers: Luther (Linda) McDermott of Etowah and Lee Roy McDermott of Knoxville; brothers-in-law: John (Phylis) White of Lake Jackson, Texas, Joe (Cynthia) White and Fred Barber of Cleveland, Walter Barber of Dallas, Ga., and Raymond (Regina) Barber of Niota; and sisters-in-law: Beaulah (the Rev. Sam) Hall and Melba (James) Burkes, all of Cleveland.
He was a graduate of McMinn County High School and employed by Walden Security.
The body may be viewed at the Patton Funeral Home Chapel, 265 Fair Street S.E. Cleveland, Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The family will receive friends Sunday at Bible Way Church of God In Christ, 585 Dooley Street N.E., Cleveland from 1 p.m. until the service time at 2 p.m. The Rev. Charles Allen, pastor, will be the eulogist.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Etowah.
