The Bradley County Democratic Party will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the Bradley County/Cleveland Public Library’s community room. The guest speaker will be Oscar Kelly, Democratic member of the Bradley County Election Commission. He will discuss and inform about the 2012 election process. The Bradley County Democratic Women will meet at 6:30 p.m. before the regular meeting.

Community Chapel Church of God, 1807 Blythe Ave., will have its monthly food giveaway, Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information call 423-479-2143.

Cleveland Transit will be closed Thursday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. A limited but free schedule will be offered Friday.

The Charleston-Calhoun-Hiwassee Historical Society will meet today at 3 p.m. at the Charleston United Methodist Church on Cass Street. The program is a report by members who attended the National Trail of Tears Conference in Norman, Okla., in October.

Volunteer Energy Cooperative will close all nine of its customer service centers and corporate office on Thursday, Nov. 22, and on Friday, Nov. 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Crews will be on hand to answer phone calls and to respond to emergencies as needed.
