He attended Washington Avenue Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Mattie Gamble.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Gamble; son, John Gamble; grandsons: Shaw Gamble and Jackson Gamble; sisters: Florence Dorger of Covington, Ky. and Gladys Chambers of Charleston, S.C.
The funeral arrangements will be announced by Fike Funeral Home.
