She was the daughter of the late Mary A. Gates Parris and Allie R. Parris. She was preceded in death by her great-grandchild, Donovan Zachary Penley; and her brother, Ronnie “Shorty” Freeman.
She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable garden, crocheting and wind chimes. However, her family was her life. She was known to her family and friends as “Mamaw.” She was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Jimmy M. Plumley of Cleveland; her children: Connie Hughes, Tammy Harper, Randy Plumley and Lana Turner: her eight grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren; her sisters: Martha Crumley, Ruthene Rivers and Elaine Wax; her brother, Homer Freeman; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at 1 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Doug Hughes, the Rev. Ray Cheathem and the Rev. Benny Watson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Delano Cemetery in Polk County with Josh Plumley, Issac Plumley, Michael Hughes, Bryan Parris, Rodney Killian and James Lundy serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
