The Ocoee Middle sixth-grade boys went up on the mountain to engage the Copper Basin Cougars Monday night and came back down to head home with an “ugly win” to run their season-opening streak to 10-0.

“The offense and defense were not up to par, as the boys had Thanksgiving on their minds and [the upcoming] few days off,” stated coach Ed Coates of the 30-18 victory.

The balanced Colt scoring was led by Tyler Ferguson with nine points and Isaiah Johnson with eight. Three players had four points each — Patton Ford, Jordan Munch and Freddy Johnson.

After the “turkey break” the Colts will hit the road to Meigs County for a Nov. 26 matchup.
