He moved with his family from Sevierville, when they organized their business, Riverside Dairy Farm in Benton.
He was a kind and gentle man with a tender heart. He was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church. He served on the Soil Conservation Board and previously on the Farm Bureau Board.
He was preceded in death by his father, McKinley L. Hatcher; and grandparents: William Robert and Bertha Hatcher and Frank and Una Cooper.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Candy Hatcher; mother, Dorothy Hatcher; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Jim Guy; brothers and sisters-in-law: Joe and Glenda Hatcher and Warren and Linda Hatcher; mother and father-in-law: Sue Ledford and Jewell Ledford; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Buck and Cathy Ledford, Jan and Len Bell and Kathy and David Adams; special friends: Jose Ceniceros and Carl (Hoss) Maples; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Nov. 21, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating.
Jim Guy, Mac Hatcher, Carl (Hoss) Maples, Buck Ledford, Len Bell, and David Adams will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening prior to the service.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
