She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga having been born on Oct. 11, 1924, a daughter of the late Bud Wilson and Sally Wilson Ward.
She worked for many years at Cutter Laboratories.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kathern Atchley; and a brother, James McKissick.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory six children: Jimmy, Diane, Frank, Ronnie, Dale and Debbie; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at noon, Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Roger Kittle officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening in the parlor of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis TN, in Jimmie’s name.
