Tanya Raines reported the burglary Nov. 16, according to a report filed by Detective Joe Musselwhite. He stated Raines alerted BCSO after she returned home that afternoon. She was unclear if the perpetrators were still inside the home. After deputies arrived on the scene and entered the home, they found no one inside.
Detective Michael Hughes responded to the scene to collect evidence.
According to the report, jewelry, firearms and electronics were taken.
After assessing the loss, Raines estimated more than $8,000 in property was missing.
Investigation is continuing.
- Deputy Melanie Johnson filed a report for a Gap Springs Road resident who said someone took a welder from his property.
Henry Webb said a portable Miller welder was stored outside a chicken house before he noticed the welder missing and reported it to authorities.
According to the report, the welder was described as being blue and black and was valued at $1,200.
Webb also told Johnson he had previous burglaries and thefts at the property and requested extra patrol of the property by law enforcement.
