He was of the Protestant faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hairle Preston Hayes Sr. and Catherine Lucille Graig; and a sister, Shelia Dunn.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Culbertson; son, Jeremy Hayes and wife, Kisha, of Cleveland; grandchildren: Jenni May and Zander Thomas Edward Hayes: siblings: Louise Stoops, John Hayes, Kay Cronan, Edna Geren and husband, Dennis, all of Cleveland and Helen Sipe and husband, Wayne of Newnan, Ga., and Hazel Allen of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, 11:30 a.m. at Community Hall Church with Pastor Jeannie Cissom officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LLC.
