“It appears everything broke records,” said Sharon Marr, executive director of MainStreet Cleveland as she gave a rundown of the annual Cleveland Christmas Parade activities.

More than 200 entries took more than an hour as they began to travel out of the gate at Bradley Central High School and begin the circuit downtown Saturday as a record crowd attended the parade.

Marr said this year’s Grand Champion float winner was Duracell. Unity Church captured the religious title while Hiwassee Valley Tractor Club got the civic honors. In the elementary and youth category, the South Cleveland Church of God Royal Rangers took home a trophy. In the middle and high school category, Bradley High’s Skills USA float won. Mars/M&M took the commercial category, according to Marr.
