Allie “Mae” Payne, 82, a resident of Cleveland, slipped peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus at Skyridge Medical Center during the evening of Monday, Dec. 3, 2012.

She was born on April 9, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Eliza Rose Jones and Richard “Bird” Rose. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Alba Crotty and Bertha Ellis; and her brothers: Clyde, Hoyt and Pearl Jones.

She was a seamstress most of her life and was retired from the J. H. Kellman Co. after many years of service.

She loved being with her family, collecting dolls and going to flea markets and yard sales.

She was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Teddy Payne of Cleveland; sister, Birdie Cole of Lenoir City; and she also leaves to cherish her memories a multitude of nieces, nephews; her brothers-in-law: Marion, Dale and Beecher Payne; and many special friends.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 6:30 this evening, Dec. 5. 2012, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. Darren Fansler and Danny Works officiating

A graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Coker Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

A dove release will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:30 this evening at the funeral home.
