William I. “Bill” Stark III, 68, of Cleveland, and formerly of Wellesley, Mass., died Monday afternoon, Dec. 3, 2012, in a local health care facility.

He received a bachelor of arts degree in English, theater and engineering from Southeastern University, Boston. He had a varied career in his life, having worked as a television cameraman, inshore commercial fisherman, TV production coordinator, TV director, and script writer. He wrote original dramas for CBC Radio in Canada, and was a freelance TV technical producer.

He was employed by Cleveland State Community College from 1993 to 2010 as a computer and systems analyst. After retiring in 2010, he continued to volunteer his time at Cleveland State, consulting in the IT Department. His vital assistance and his warming presence will be greatly missed by his Cleveland State family.

His activities included: scuba diving, sports car racing driver and licensed radio amateur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Irving Stark Jr., and Barbara Tower Stark.

Survivors include his sister, Anne Stark Newman and her husband, Dean; nephew, Justin Krey Newman’; cousin, Gloria Muir of Yarmouth Port, Mass.; brother, Alden Krey Stark of Newport, N.H., Jennifer Qualey Stark; and nieces and nephews: Hannah, David, Rachel and Nathan Stark of Newport.

There will be a memorial service at the Salvation Army Church, 439 Inman St. West, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012.
