He was retired from Magic Chef after 11 years of service. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Vietnam era.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Della Mae Bishop Davis.
His survivors include his wife, Nancy Pike Davis, of Riceville; five children: Lee Brown and wife, Deanna, of Cleveland, Kay Morrow and husband, Brad, of Ooltewah, Penny Brown of Riceville, Billy Brown of Cleveland, and Troy Davis and wife, Sabrina, of Cleveland; nine grandchildren: Steven Swafford, Crystal Swafford, Patrick Brown, Johnny Ray Brown, Nathan Brown, Heather Brown, Keith Brown, Christian Davis and Gary Morrow; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jimmy Davis of Clearwater, Fla.
The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery concluding with military honors. Pallbearers will be his sons, grandson, and son-in-law.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
