D.L. Geren, 86, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, in a Chattanooga hospital.

He was a retired Bradley County School bus contractor working for more than 30 years and was a lifelong member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge No. 134.

He attended Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Leonard and Sally Geren and was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Geren. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Gene and Dean Geren; a sister Neva June Geren; and a sister-in-law Betty Geren.

He is survived by his daughters: Jo Newberry and her husband, Alan of Sarosota Fla., Wanda Jean Lewis and her husband, Don E., of Cleveland; son, Dale Geren and his wife, Sherry, of Cleveland; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Julia Ann Collins and her husband, Joe, of Cleveland; brothers: Luther Geren and Tressley Geren and his wife, Wenonah, of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at the North Ocoee Street of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Terry Geren officiating.

Interment will follow in the Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 11,2012, from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.
