D.L. Geren, 86, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, in a Chattanooga hospital.

He was a retired Bradley County School bus contractor for more than 30 years and was a lifelong member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge No. 134.

He attended Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Leonard and Sally Geren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Geren; his brothers: Gene Geren and Dean Geren; a sister, Neva June Geren; and a sister-in-law, Betty Geren.

He is survived by his daughters: Jo Newberry and her husband, Alan, of Sarasota Fla., and Wanda Jean Lewis and her husband, Don E., of Cleveland; son, Dale Geren and his wife, Sherry, of Cleveland; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Julia Ann Collins and her husband, Joe, of Cleveland; brothers: Luther Geren and Tressley Geren and his wife, Wenonah, of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Terry Geren officiating.

Interment will follow in the Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
