She was the daughter of the late Mary Dunn Baxter and Doff Baxter.
Her husband, Luther L. Swallows, her sons, Gene, Cecil and Robert Swallows, five brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker most of her life. She was also a seamstress with J. H. Kellman Company for 10 years. She loved working in her flower garden and people would come by and take pictures of her flowers. She also loved to crochet and loved being with her family. She was a member of the Boanerges Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Sims and her husband Thomas of Old Fort; her sons: J. B. Swallows, Ed Swallows and his wife Ruth Ann, Junior Swallows, all of Old Fort, Ray Swallows and his wife Judy of Calhoun, Earl Swallows and his wife Debbie of Old Fort, Jack Swallows of Kentucky and Joby Swallows of Turtletown; her 36 grandchildren, her 71 great grandchildren, her 14 great great grandchildren; her sisters: Jenna Mae Bartlett and her husband Jim, Louise Hogan all of Eton, Ga., her brother, Henry Baxter of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted this evening at 7 from the Samples Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Lee Ingram, Mark Cameron and Jason Guthrie officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted Monday Dec. 17, 2012, at 11 a.m., from the Moores Chapel Cemetery with sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 P. M. Sunday at the Samples Memorial Baptist Church.
