Harold Reno opened the program with the devotion by reading the Christmas story from the book of Luke.
After the luncheon, Deborah Flower introduced the Walker Valley Chamber Choir under the direction of Melanie Oran as the guest entertainment.
The a cappella group presented a variety of familiar Christmas songs.
Caleb Luzader was the soloist in “What Child is This,” Kayla Martin was the soloist for “Deck the Halls,” and “Breath of Heaven” was sung by Sierra Ellison.
Elijah West presented a guitar and solo rendition of “Winter Wonderland” and Sierra Ellison and Logan Smith sang “Who Would Imagine a King.”
During an abbreviated business portion of the meeting, Joy Yates, treasurer, presented copies of the treasurer’s report.
Lois Glass asked all to remember Mildred Sparkman in the loss of her husband, Bill, and the families of Marty Wood, Roy Farmer, Dennis Cartwright and Jeff Howard.
The next scheduled meeting will be Feb. 14, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at Westwood Baptist Church, with Walter Presswood as the guest speaker.
The local association meets bimonthly. Membership is open to any retired teacher.
