Joseph Walter Nance, 88, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, in Anderson, S.C.

He retired from Magic Chef after 32 years of service. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served his country during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph I. and Alice F. Nance; granddaughter: Tammy Greene-Turner; and his baby son, Joseph William Nance.

He is survived by his wife, Edna W. Nance; daughter, Betty N. Greene and husband Gerald (Jerry) Greene of Anderson; granddaughter, Tina Greene-Seawright and husband Kelley Seawright of Anderson; grandson: Gerald (Randy) Greene Jr. and wife, Cheryl Greene, of Anderson; and five great-grandchildren: Chelsea and Cori Turner of Atlanta, Ga., Kayley and Sally Seawright of Anderson, and Joseph Nance Greene of Anderson.

The funeral will be conducted today, Dec. 23, 2012, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 3 to 4 p.m. prior to the service.
