She was a homemaker. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Benton.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Wilson and Icey Mae (Whorton) Tams; and her husband, Ausie A. Butcher.
She is survived by a daughter, Yvonne D. Hancock and husband, Wade, of Jacksonville; son, A. Allen Butcher of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren: Christian D. Hunter and wife, Sarah, of Youngstown, Ohio, Jeff A. Hunter of Boardman, Ohio, Elaine R. Butcher of Charlottesville, Va.; sisters: Donna Jean Stevens of Chester, W.Va., and Dorothy Bailey of Duncan, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Herb Arp officiating.
Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
