Dema F. Coleman, 78, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in a Chattanooga hospital.
She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed traveling, reading and working in her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar L. Coleman and Okie Shoemaker Coleman; sisters: Margaret Geren, Tommye Snyder, and infant, Martha Dean Coleman; brothers: O.L. Coleman, Jr. and Bernard Coleman; and nephew, Michael Cissom.
Survivors include nieces: Jimmy Cissom, Cathy Snyder Lowe, Jane Hall and Wanda Biddy, all of Cleveland, Rheta Beck of Harrison, Jeanne Underwood of Georgia and Kay Allen of Ohio; nephews: Robby Snyder, Ray Geren, Steve Geren and Buddy Geren, all of Cleveland, and Terry Coleman, Randy Coleman and Gary Coleman, all of Ohio; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Guinn Green officiating.
Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Coleby Hooker, Roger Cissom, Bobby Cissom, Ray Geren, Steve Geren and Jay Underwood serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Her family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
