Frank Weir, 59, a resident of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at the family residence.

His father, Luke Weir Sr.; and his fiancé, Lucretia Lopez, preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and received an associate’s degree from Cleveland State Community College. He was retired from the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department with more than 10 years of service as a deputy.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Blue Knights. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He attended the Baptist church.

Survivors include his son, Heath Weir and his wife, Kitty, of Calhoun; grandson, that Frank affectionately called “Papaw’s Little Man,” Luke Weir Jr.; mother, Juandine Weir of Cleveland; sister, Kathy Weir; brother, David Weir; nephew, Lucas Nunn and his wife, Leslie; great-nieces: Maelea, Sienna and Ella Nunn; and great-nephew, Taj Nunn, all of Cleveland; stepchildren: Ariel, Marvin and Aaron Lopez, all of Cleveland; and his special friend, Terry Denton and his wife, Michelle, of Charleston.

The Remembrance of Life Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, from the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Clay Lynch officiating.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
