She was a charter member of Westmore Church of God, where she also served as secretary for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie C. Boyd; parents: Opie Reed Stewart and Essie Barnett Stewart; and brother, Opie Ray Stewart.
She is survived by one daughter, Tammy Boyd Simmons and husband, LTC Chaplain Terry Simmons, of Fortson, Ga..; grandchildren: Tyler Holley and wife, Krista, of Memphis, Darren Holley of Nashville, Joshua Simmons and Timothy Simmons, both of Fortson; one brother, Nathan Stewart of Atlanta Ga.; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
The family will receive friends Saturday, from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
