The first Glitz, Glam Give event — with all the lights, music and excitement of a Hollywood Fashion Show — will feature 2013 showcase designer prom gowns and emphasize the importance of giving back to the community by supporting The Salvation Army in Cleveland.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. on Jan. 19 at The Museum Center at Five Points. Admittance to attend the exciting high-fashion evening will be a pack of baby diapers, baby wipes, a new heater or a $5 donation. The after-party will be across the street at Ever After Bridal & Formal Wear, featuring a live deejay, hor d’oeuvres and “exclusive rights” to the gowns showcased on the runway. Admittance to the after-party is the ticket from the event.
Vendors will be set up to give information and to also book appointments for hair, makeup and photographs. Anyone who purchases a gown from Ever After will be assured that it will be the only gown in that style sold to that school. The glamorous prom gowns will be modeled by the women of Lee University’s Sigma Nu Sigma sorority.
Leading designer Tony Bowls will speak via Web streaming to the guests of Glitz, Glam Give.
Ever After Bridal & Formal Wear owner Kendra Collins said the business has chosen to support The Salvation Army because it is a compassionate and credible nonprofit. She said its commitment to the needs of the community are very similar to the commitments at Ever After Bridal & Formal Wear. “It’s a privilege to be able to have a one of a kind event that will provide electrifying fashion entertainment, and benefit others,” Collins added.
According to The Salvation Army’s Cleveland administrator, Ruthie Forgey, “The Salvation Army is honored to be chosen to be a part of this dynamic and exclusive event. Ever After recognizes that we all work better together to serve the needs in our community. Not only is Kendra a successful business owner who serves with compassion, she understands that we can all do more by working together for the needs of our neighbors.”
